The dunes proved especially difficult to escape.

Sand rolled quickly from under my feet. It was a subtle reminder of what just fell through my grasp. I arrived at the top of a warped wooden staircase and was greeted by a beautiful stranger. She asked me to photograph the sunrise and send it to her. When I turned toward the ocean, I saw that light from our sun (90 million miles, away) had commuted with earth’s atmosphere into colorful patterns across the sky.

The world is your sun.
I sent this photograph.
There was something here more real than we could ever imagine. At that very instance, I decided to push with unrelenting desire from every fiber in my body.

This is a journal about food and our immutable relationship.
